FC Berlin’s quest for a third consecutive PLF title came to an end against a very strong and clinical Marakana side, as Berlin was unable to find its footing in the final. Despite the importance of the occasion, the game quickly tilted away from Berlin, who never truly managed to get back into contention.
After an early exchange that saw the score tied at 2–2, Marakana delivered a devastating stretch that decided the match. In the span of just 11 minutes, they struck six times, turning a balanced game into an imposing 8–2 lead that proved impossible to overcome. From that moment on, Marakana controlled both the tempo and the clock, comfortably seeing out the remainder of the match and denying Berlin a historic three-peat.
On a difficult night for the team, Alex Babol once again stood out with a determined and high-level performance. Following his strong showing in the semifinal, Babol was justifiably named Player of the Match, providing a bright spot in an otherwise challenging final for FC Berlin.
