The temperatures may be dropping, but things are certainly heating up at FC Berlin.
With the fall and winter seasons getting underway, several of our teams are already back in competition, while others are preparing to take the field. From MASL-W and high-level futsal to our recreational and intermediate squads, there will be plenty of FC Berlin action to follow over the coming months.
And if the opening weeks are anything to go by, we are in for an exciting season.
MASL-W: Ready for Chapter Two
After an unforgettable debut season, our semi-professional women's team is getting ready to return to the field and begin preparations for another Major Arena Soccer League Women campaign.
FC Berlin made history last season as the first Canadian-based club in the MASL-W system. What followed was a remarkable first campaign, culminating in a trip to the MASL-W Nationals and a quarterfinal matchup against RPFC Dallas.
Now, the focus turns to what comes next.
With a renewed roster, a committed staff, and plenty of hunger, our women's team is ready to build on the foundation laid during that historic first season.
Expectations are high, but so is the excitement. The work begins on the training field, and we can't wait to see where the journey takes us this time around.
Back in the OWFL, and back with a bang
FC Berlin has also returned to the Ontario Women's Futsal League, competing in Division I.
It marks a return to familiar territory for the club. Our previous OWFL campaign ended with FC Berlin capturing the Ontario Women's Futsal League title, an achievement also highlighted by MASL-W when announcing Berlin's arrival in the league.
And this year's squad couldn't have asked for a much better start.
FC Berlin opened its Division I campaign last Sunday with an emphatic 7-2 victory over FC 6ix Potenza, immediately putting three points on the board and setting the tone for the season ahead.
Fast, technical and competitive, futsal has long been an important part of our club, and we are thrilled to once again have FC Berlin represented in Ontario's women's game.
Wednesday Nights Belong to FC Berlin Coed
The action doesn't stop there.
Our FC Berlin Coed squad is competing in the Grand River Soccer League's indoor 7v7 competition and has enjoyed an excellent opening to the season.
The team has started the campaign with three consecutive victories, including a 10-3 win over Just Kickin' It and a 7-3 victory against ABCDE FC. FC Berlin currently sits on top of the table with nine points.
With games taking place on Wednesday nights, the Coed squad will be looking to keep that early momentum rolling as the campaign continues.
FC Berlin GT Ready to Bounce Back
On Thursdays, attention shifts to our FC Berlin GT Women's squad.
It has been a challenging beginning to the season, but that's part of the game. The group will be looking to turn the page, find its rhythm and pick up its first victory of the campaign as it continues its Grand River Soccer League schedule.
There is plenty of soccer still to be played, and the focus now is firmly on what comes next.
And we're just getting started...
MASL-W. OWFL. Wednesday nights. Thursday nights.
There is a lot of FC Berlin soccer happening right now, and there's even more that we haven't told you about yet.
Whether it's our semi-professional players preparing for another national campaign, our futsal team chasing more success, or our local squads representing the club every week, the same FC Berlin colours will be out there throughout the fall and winter.
Stay tuned to FC Berlin and our social media channels for match updates, team news and more.
Because the season is only getting started.
And we have some exciting news to share very soon.
