Detroit City FC vs FC Berlin: Preview

Gabriel Almada3 Jan - 17:00

One week later. Same rivals. New chapter!

Exactly one week after delivering one of the most memorable results in MASL-W history, FC Berlin return to action tonight as they face Detroit City FC at the Detroit City Fieldhouse, with kickoff set for 7:30 PM EST.

These two teams met just a week ago in a game that will be remembered for a long time. Detroit City jumped out to a 4–0 lead, but Berlin showed incredible character and firepower, storming back to win 10–7. The result not only became one of the wildest games of the season, but also handed Detroit City their first regular season loss in MASL-W play.

Detroit City FC will be eager to respond on home turf, relying on their pace, physicality, and attacking depth in front of their supporters. Expect them to come out aggressive as they try to even the score and make a statement in front of their fans. FC Berlin, meanwhile, arrive with renewed confidence and a reinforced roster. Tonight’s match will mark the club debuts of Sophia Lezizidis, Raquelle Mitchell, and Violet Hipkin, three additions expected to add quality and depth to an already dynamic squad. Adding further experience and leadership, long-time Berlin star Maeva Lichtensteiger is also included in the roster, providing a familiar spark and steady presence.

Coach Santiago Almada has rostered the following players for tonight's bout:

  1. Hunter Jones (GK)
  2. Sarah-Anisha Bradbury (GK)
  3. Nicole Mailloux
  4. Hope Windebank
  5. Bryanna Caldwell
  6. Kristen Bettencourt
  7. April Syme
  8. Angelika Mihalopulos
  9. Alessia Da Silva
  10. Samantha Murphy
  11. Violet Hipkin
  12. Sophia Lezizidis
  13. Raquelle Mitchell
  14. Maeva Lichtensteiger

After last week’s thriller, all signs point to another exciting and hard-fought battle between two of the MASL-W’s top sides. This game will be streamed live on DCFC's YouTube site.
