Every team needs players who can change the rhythm of a match, and Alessia Da Silva brings exactly that kind of spark to FC Berlin. Known for her energy on the ball and willingness to drive play forward, she adds creativity and attacking intent whenever she steps onto the field.
Before joining FC Berlin, Da Silva developed her game with Scarborough GS United, competing at a high level in Ontario’s futsal and amateur competitions. She was part of the club’s squad at the Canada Soccer National Championships and even found the net in the Ontario Futsal Cup Final, showcasing the quick reactions and technical ability that thrive in tight spaces. That futsal background translates naturally to the fast-paced environment of arena soccer.
Now wearing the FC Berlin colours, Da Silva continues to bring that same intensity and technical confidence to the indoor game. Whether pressing opponents, linking up with teammates, or taking advantage of small pockets of space, she represents the relentless work ethic and attacking spirit that define this FC Berlin squad.
When did you first start playing soccer, and what inspired you to fall in love with the game?
I started playing soccer at the age of 5. I fell in love with the game, that freedom, the pace, and the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself.
Did you always play in attacking roles, or did you try different positions growing up?
I’ve spent time playing centre back, wingback, winger, and in both attacking and defensive midfield positions, which has helped me understand the game from multiple perspectives.
How would you describe your style of play to someone who has never seen you play before?
I’d describe myself as a playmaker. I focus on creating opportunities and setting the team up for offensive success. I’m composed on the ball, read the game well, and use tactical awareness to make effective decisions and deliver quality passes.
What part of the game excites you the most: creating chances, scoring goals, or setting up your teammates?
Creating chances excites me the most. Scoring always feels great, but there’s something special about building a play and being the one who initiates the opportunity.
Is there a match or moment in your soccer journey that stands out as especially memorable?
The most memorable part of my journey has been pushing through the moments where I was doubted or overlooked and still finding a way to perform. Those experiences shaped my resilience and make every opportunity to step on the field more meaningful.
What has your experience been like being part of FC Berlin and its team culture?
Being part of FC Berlin has been a positive experience. It’s a great group to be around, from the teammates to the staff, the environment is supportive, competitive, and focused on growth.
How does playing with this group of teammates help bring out the best in your game?
Playing alongside experienced players who share a strong work ethic and competitive drive creates a great atmosphere to succeed. There’s a strong team dynamic even though we all come from different teams, the chemistry comes together naturally.
What is one part of your game you are currently working to improve?
I’m working on being more impactful offensively. I’ve become more reserved at times, so I’m focused on regaining that drive to join the attack and fully use my versatility to support the team.
What motivates you to keep pushing yourself as a player?
To be better for that 5 year old girl who fell in love with the game. I’ve always held myself to a high standard and focused on the details, but I’ve learned that mistakes are part of the game. That balance pushes me to keep improving and become the best version of myself.
