It was a terrific performance by the Berlin Bad Boys at Morton Park today. Led by an unstoppable Tomasz Skublak, the Bad Boys had already taken a 3-0 lead within the first 10 minutes, while their opponents were pretty much getting ready to go. Berlin’s attack was deep and relentless, and the 5-0 score at half time was a testament to it. The home team was definitely willing to make up for the previous weekend’s faux pas.
Things didn’t change much in the second period. Berlin continued to put pressure on the visitor’s team back line, and soon more goals came to increase the already significant score difference. Toward the end of the game, United West was finally able to get some plays going and ended scoring in the 77th minute. A late goal for the home team sealed the 8-1 score and gave Berlin a big boost looking into their game against division leaders Cedars FC.
Four Berlin players wrote their names on the scoreboard, each with a brace: Skublak, Nicko Linares, Wesley Cain and Ryley Wishart.
Skublak also added three assists to his impressive performance, earning the Player of the Game award and becoming a serious candidate for the Conference’s Player of the Week. Other assists came from Evan Dick, Marko Acimovic and Cain.
Next game for Berlin, as mentioned, will be next Sunday when they host Cedars FC at Morton Park.
United West FC will also return to Morton Park next Sunday, but this time visiting Chantilly Forever FC in the first game of the day.
