Our Berlin II teams head to Guelph to play their final exhibition games on Sunday

Our District teams are going to the neighbouring city of Guelph this weekend. The boys will try to build on their two recent wins and establish themselves as the team to beat next season. The girls have a different goal in mind. That heartbreaking loss at home two weeks ago was definitely felt, so our young ladies will be looking for redemption!

The lads will very likely have a full squad for their two games, as Marek Karauda is set to return now that he has recovered from injury. It’s not the same for the ladies though, as they will be missing at least three players due to injuries and work commitments. They are still looking sharp, though, and they will go into their exhibition game vs Orangeville with the confidence earned after a stellar performance on Wednesday night, when they scrimmaged against a team that combined Berlin XI and FC Berlin U21 players.

Defence looked really strong that evening, with keeper Alison van Schaik earning a shutout that included stopping a PK towards the end of the match. Our attacking players were also in fine form, with Nyawech Chol scoring a brace and Audrey Bennett netting a beautiful shot out of a corner kick.

The boys, as mentioned, will be at almost full power. Will Logan Welton get another hat trick? Will Karauda make a big statement in his return from injury after a few weeks? We all are really excited about this Sunday, and hoping to end this very unusual summer season on a high note!
